AZGARD

~/ai-consultant/uk · azgard in the united kingdom

ai consultant for the united kingdom.

Most AI consulting sold to UK SMEs stops at a strategy document and a licence to renew. Azgard's engagements end in a working system your own team runs: AI built into your quoting, your scheduling, your client follow-up, inside the tools you already pay for. One engineer, based in Sydney, working to UK mornings.

the united kingdom picture.

The United Kingdom counts businesses roughly the way Azgard thinks about them: micro under ten people, small under fifty, medium under two hundred and fifty. Nearly all of the firms this work suits sit in the first two bands, run by an owner who quotes, schedules, invoices, and carries a good share of the company's working knowledge in their own head. That is as true of an engineering supplier in the West Midlands as it is of a professional practice in Greater London or a fintech firm in the Central Belt.

Public money is now chasing exactly that gap. The Mayor of London has funded a multi-year AI support package for small businesses, the Greater Manchester AI Foundry runs university-backed support for SMEs, Birmingham City Council teaches fully funded digital adoption workshops, and Scotland's AI Strategy has opened an SME AI Adoption Programme through Scottish Enterprise and The Data Lab. Almost all of it teaches. Very little of it builds. Azgard starts where the workshop finishes: a working system inside your own accounts and files, documented in plain English, run by your own staff once the engagement ends.

common questions

asked from the united kingdom.

Sydney is a long way ahead of the UK. How does that actually work?
This is the widest gap of any market Azgard works in, so here is the unvarnished version. Sydney runs nine to eleven hours ahead of the UK depending on where both countries are in their daylight saving cycles. Eight to ten in the morning your time is early evening in Sydney, which is a genuine and repeatable window, and that is when live sessions run. Outside it the two working days barely touch: your afternoon is the middle of Sydney's night. Delivery between sessions is therefore asynchronous by design, in writing, inside your own files, with recordings and written notes for anyone who misses a call. If your business needs somebody reachable for back and forth all day, hire in the UK. Azgard would rather say that on this page than have you discover it in week three.
What currency are prices in, and who am I contracting with?
Prices show in pounds and payment is by card. The company behind them is Australian. Azgard has no UK entity, no UK office, and no UK staff, so you are contracting with an Australian business and the invoice arrives from one. If your accountant or your procurement process needs particular paperwork from an overseas supplier, ask before you buy rather than after, and it gets sorted first.
What does an engagement actually look like?
Most begin with a two-hour AI Fundamentals session for whoever runs the business, held live in the UK morning. A done-with-you Kickstart follows, standing up a Company Brain on your real quotes, jobs, and documents rather than a demonstration dataset. Where it goes after that is your decision: an audit of a single process, one pilot build, or an ongoing capability partnership. Nothing asks you to commit for a year before you have seen any of the work.
How do I choose an AI consultant for a UK SME?
Three questions sort most of the field. Who does the building, by name, and will that person still be on the call once the invoice clears. What do you own at the end: files and accounts under your own control, or something that stops working the day you stop paying. And what will they tell you AI cannot do for your business. Azgard's answers do not change: one engineer builds it, everything lives in your accounts, and the honest list of limits arrives in the first session rather than the last. Azgard is the wrong choice if you want a delivery team, a UK supplier who can visit, or somebody to run the system for you indefinitely.
What kinds of UK businesses does this suit?
Owner-run firms with real operational work behind them: manufacturers and engineering suppliers, trades and field services, professional practices, and small finance or technology firms. The common thread is not the sector, it is the symptom. Quoting depends on one person's memory, the same client question gets answered from scratch every week, and the process that genuinely works exists as habit rather than anything written down. A business already running well on good software usually needs a smaller piece of help than this, and gets told so.
